Has anyone tried to get you on the ellen show yet? Cause that would be amazing.
Tried and failed I’m afraid. I was contacted by the Ellen staff and they were very interested in having me on the show. Unfortunately, something more topical came up: a girl burnt her hair off with a curling iron and it became a viral video. So that girl filled the slot they were considering for me. Alas, I will get on for something someday.
Sigh. I don't mean to be THAT GUY. But someone has to be that guy- Jared Leto ain't a good guy. Also he didn't mention trans people. You don't have to publish this and I didn't do this to make you feel bad!
I’ve been hearing a lot about this recently. I feel he should have mentioned the transgender community in his speech. But I think he was trying to make it more universal so it applies to other groups instead of just trans individuals. Regardless, I really hope we see more trans characters in the future. They need to have a much bigger presence in mainstream media.
“My third grade teacher called my mother and said, ‘Ms. Cox, your son is going to end up in New Orleans in a dress if we don’t get him into therapy.’ And wouldn’t you know, just last week I spoke at Tulane University, and I wore a LOVELY green and black dress.”—Laverne Cox, speaking at the University of Kentucky (via so-nyeo-shi-daze)
When I was in the 3rd grade, I thought I was straight, because I live in a society where heterosexuality is assumed, outward characteristics are used as orientation indicators, and being queer is seen as a negative thing.
